What services do you offer?

We offer a bespoke credit control service to small businesses who are struggling to put together a workable process or who are looking to outsource this area.

We are a local friendly company who all have experience working with other small companies.  This means that we truly understand financial constraints and the stress that outstanding monies can cause.  We can adapt to our client’s specific needs and can take on as much or as little work as they need.

Why do you do what you do?

I love finding out other people’s stories – why they choose to run their own businesses, where they get their passion from and their journey and goals.

I am naturally well organised, efficient and genuinely love paperwork. So I am lucky to be able to offer these skills to fellow business owners and be part of their stories!

What has been your biggest learning experience so far?

I ran a pub in Grantchester from 2003 until 2007 and made all the mistakes that inexperienced business owners make.  It was hell from day one and most of the time I couldn’t see a way out.

This real life business experience has given me a true insight into what can go wrong. So now l get to use my bookkeeping, payroll and credit control training and experience to help other business owners get it right.

When things get tough, what motivates you to keep going?

I love the life that working for myself gives me.  I truly enjoy working hard but I like doing it in the hours that suits me.  I have other interests outside of work so being able to work an evening rather than an afternoon for example means I can fit everything in. Also, I have a family that rely on me, not only financially but also mentally.  Working through tough times to then be able to enjoy the good times makes me a much better person to be around!

How helpful is your support network?

My main support network are my family and they all help immensely.  My husband and step-daughter see how hard I work and truly give me the emotional support that I need.  Also, my sister sometimes sends me little messages to say how proud she is of me and that really does make it worthwhile.

What, or who inspires you?

My husband inspires me.  He has been through so much personally, things that most parents couldn’t even comprehend. But he continually comes out with true love and positivity.  He never gives up on the things that are most important.
